Fulfillment workflow guide
China Fulfillment for Shopify
A Shopify fulfillment project is both physical and technical. Before choosing a warehouse flow, define how inventory arrives, how orders are released, what tracking events return and who resolves exceptions.

Document order creation, payment status, fraud or address holds, fulfillment release, tracking updates, cancellations and refunds. Decide which system is authoritative at each stage.
Define receiving and inventory rules
Agree carton labels, SKU identifiers, receiving checks, discrepancies, lot or expiry handling and inventory adjustments before stock moves. Unclear SKU data is a common source of avoidable exceptions.
Specify pick and pack
Record packaging, inserts, bundles, kitting, fragile handling, brand presentation and shipping-label rules. Treat these as an operating specification rather than an informal preference.
Test before launch
Use a small set of test orders across ordinary and edge cases. Verify data, packing output, tracking, cancellation handling and customer notifications before releasing live volume.
